Holland College is the provincial community college for the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island (PEI). Commodore Samuel Holland, a British Army engineer and surveyor, is honoured with the naming of this feature.

Holland College, which was founded in 1969, is a regionally accredited institution with 13 campuses and centres offering more than 65 full-time career training programmes and 70 certificates in a wide range of fields. Tuition and Fee Information
Apply for housing at the Prince of Wales Campus residences in Charlottetown at the same time as your programme of study.
There is a high demand for residence hall rooms, and since you cannot be guaranteed a room until you have been accepted to a program, it is best to submit your application as soon as possible.
Fill out this Residence Application Form online, via download, or on paper. Applying online requires a valid Visa or MasterCard due to the $25 application fee.
On the housing application, you have the option to request a specific roommate; however, this request must be honoured by your prospective roommate. Roommate requests or adjustments must be made through the Residence Office.
The monthly rent is inclusive of all utilities (water, sewer, garbage removal, heating/cooling, cable tv, internet, local phone service, and parking). No smoking is allowed inside. WHAT FOLLOWS YOUR APPLICATION
We begin sending room offers to new students who have been accepted to residence in mid to late April. This is done in the order in which the applications were received, and continues throughout the summer.
When you receive your room offer, you will need to send a $500 confirmation fee. The confirmation fee is due three weeks after you receive your room offer.
We match up roommates by August 1 and students are notified via email to the address they provided on their residence application form. We will send a questionnaire that needs to be in filled out and returned to the residence manager by July 15.
WHEN WILL I FIND OUT MY ROOM ASSIGNMENT?
Room assignment and roommate information is typically available in early August. This information will be sent to the email account they used to apply to residence.
Moving away from home and sharing a space with someone else is a big adjustment to make. Take some time to prepare yourself by reviewing our tips for living in residence.
Our residences are available for short-term rentals from May to the end of August, ideal for tourists and conference delegates.

$40 Canadian Dollars is the application fee for all other programmes.

Tuition Based on Enrollment in a Specific Program
• On the first day of the programme, 60% of tuition and lab fees and 100% of other expenses are due; on the first day of the second half of the programme, 40% of tuition and lab fees are due.
Instruction Based on Courses
The amount you pay for tuition and labs each semester is proportional to the number of credits you take. At the very latest by the first day of classes, you must have paid your full semester’s tuition, as well as any additional fees and student union dues.

Foreign Candidates
Dates for paying tuition, lab fees, and other miscellaneous costs are the same as those in Canada (see above).
• In addition to the cost of the programme, all overseas students must also cover the international student fee.
• The foreign student fee for the first year is $4,400 CAD and the charge for the second year is $4,000 CAD (2021/2022 only). Every international student must additionally pay $750 for international health insurance, in addition to the $420 for medical and dental coverage they receive from the student union. Payment in full is required prior to the start of the programme.
• If you have been denied a study permit by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, then and only then will we reimburse the international student fee. A refund will be issued once Holland College has received a copy of the denial letter. Please write to admissions@hollandcollege.com if you are unable to secure a study permit. Within 60 days of the date of the refusal letter’s issuance, the student must submit a written request to the college for a refund. The acceptance letter’s programme start date serves as the deadline for submitting the application for a study visa.
• You may waive your participation in the student union’s health and dental insurance plans if you can provide proof that you have comparable coverage during your time as a Holland College student. If you already have a health card from the Province of P.E.I., you can use that instead of the international health insurance.

Policy for Refunding the Residency Fee All students who are now residing in the residence halls have signed the accommodation agreement, which indicates that they are financially responsible for the halls from September until the completion of their programme.
The college’s chief financial officer, or someone in their chain of command, must sign off on all refunds. Here’s how our refund policy works: If you move out of the residence hall before October 31st, you will be responsible for paying the full cost of the first semester, but you will receive a 50% refund for the second semester. Your security deposit will not be refunded unless we are able to re-rent your room. Your security deposit will be returned to you if you have no outstanding financial obligations to the college and your room has been left in good condition. If you move out after October 31, you must pay for the entire year and will not receive a prorated refund. Your security deposit will be returned to you if you have no outstanding debt to the university and your room has been left in good condition. The only way you’d get your money back is if we re-rented your room, in which case you’d get a prorated amount for the months you’re not using. JUST A NOTE, In the event that a student is: • dismissed from a programme; • evicted from residence; • withdraws from residence but continues to be a student of the college, the student will not be eligible for a refund under any circumstances. If you need to cancel your seat in a Holland College program, you must to notify us by contacting admissions@hollandcollege.com.
If you cancel your seat before the program begins, you will be eligible for a partial refund of your confirmation fee as follows:

The confirmation fee for international students is non-refundable; however, International students registered in a program with a blended delivery model who are unable to obtain a study permit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and who have canceled their admission prior to the program start date will have their confirmation fee refunded if they provide Holland College with a copy of the letter of refusal from CIC. The letter of refusal from CIC must be received by the college within 60 days of the issued date of the letter.

RESIDENCE FEE REFUND POLICY
All students living in residence have signed the accommodations agreement, which states that they are obligated to pay for residence from September until their program end date. All refunds will be approved by the chief financial officer of the college or a delegated authority.
Our refund policy is as follows:
BEFORE OCT 31: If you leave residence before Oct 31, you will be required to pay for the first semester in full, but you will be eligible for a refund of 50% for the second semester. The only exception is if we can re-rent your room, in which case you would receive a refund for the remaining months. If you do not owe any money to the college and you do not have any damage in your room, your security deposit will be returned.
AFTER OCT 31: If you leave residence after Oct 31, you will be required to pay for the full year and you will not be eligible for any refund. If you do not owe any money to the college and you do not have any damage in your room, your security deposit will be returned. Again, the only exception to this is if we can re-rent your room, in which case, you would receive a refund for the remaining months.
PLEASE NOTE
A student will NOT be eligible for a refund at any time if they:
- are dismissed from a program;
- are evicted from residence;
- withdraw from residence but remain a student of the college.
