Information about Planning and Development Board
At the level of the province, the most important entity responsible for planning is the Planning and Development Board of the Government of Punjab. It is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the actions and programmes related to development that are carried out by the various ministries of the province government. In addition to this, the department is responsible for preparing an overarching Medium Term Development Framework (MTDF) for the province’s various developmental efforts. The Medium Term Development Framework outlines the major economic subsectors of the province that are to be targeted for growth and development initiatives over the course of the next five years. The Planning and Development Board is thus one of the primary protagonists in the expansion of the economic potential of the province in this way.
In order to fulfil its mission, the Planning and Development Board is tasked with coordinating the planning operations of a number of different government departments as well as providing them with technical support. Additionally, the department is the primary government institution in the province that interacts with international funders.
Objectives
The following is a list of the primary goals that the department strives to achieve:
Evaluation of both the material and human resources available in the province
Establishment of both long-term and short-term strategies
Recommendations with regard to the current state of the economy, various economic policies, or economic measures
examination of any and all economic issues that it might be asked to comment on or advise on
Private Secretary to the Premier and is responsible for the coordination of all economic initiatives within the provincial government
Job Description
At this time, the Program Support Unit PSU is looking to hire a Private Secretary to provide support services. Candidates who are interested in volunteering their services for one of the aforementioned positions are required to meet the qualifying requirements in order to be considered.
Individuals with a minimum of ten years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree obtained from an institution of higher learning that is nationally recognised are encouraged to apply for this position.
